Last weekend Zael and his brothers visited me at my photo studio for his newborn photos. His photo session was extra special because I photographed his older brother in 2021. I love getting to see babies grow into the role as older sibling.

Newborn and Sibling Photos

With 3 boys of my own, I know just how incredibly special the bond between brothers can be. Getting to photograph these sweet moments always makes my day brighter. With these photos in their hands, I know that Zael’s parents will be able to look back and remember this day and all the beautiful details.

-There will be fights, tears, hugs, snuggles and above all else, LOVE. After all, they are brothers. –

Colors and Props Are Always Parent’s Choice

We ended up using two fun color schemes during his photo session. The first was full of warm green tones. Then cool teal tones rounded out the sibling and individual photos. My photo studio is fully stocked with many different colors and props to choose from. The first thing his parents did when they got to the studio was pick out the outfit and different wraps we used. Zael’s uncle picked out the teal background! I love standing back and letting the family pick out what we use. It makes every photo session unique.

Northern Colorado Newborn Photographer | Photos Make Memories Last

Welcome to my Northern Colorado Newborn Photo Studio Taylor!

Taylor recently came to my Loveland studio for his newborn photos. A lot of newborns sleep right through their newborn photo session. Not Taylor! Look at that eye contact. Newborns usually can’t see very far when they are so new. Typically, they won’t look at the camera and if they do their eyes are crossed or they are winking. I can’t get over how alert he looks for being so new.

Newborn and Sibling Photos

Look at these two! They both were so amazing. It is always so much fun to see how the older siblings are with their new baby. She clearly loves him so much!

These are definitely the kind of moments that we are going to look back at in 5, 10 or 20 years and wish we could have them back to relive again. Luckily, they will have these photos to make the memories more vivid and the details unforgettable.

Big Sister Gets the Spotlight

One of the first things I learned when I met this family is, big sister was born during the lockdown for the pandemic. That means there were no photographers that were working when she was a newborn. She did not get to have newborn photos done. This was sad and disappointing for a lot of parents that had babies during that time. I know that there is no way to go back and fix this but giving her the spotlight for just a few minutes during her little brother’s session is a small start.

If you are a parent, then you already know, babies change so much in so little time. It is simultaneously amazing and heart breaking to watch. You really only get to have a newborn for about 2 months. Photographing babies during this time means so much to me. I want parents to be able to look at their baby’s photos and remember what it felt like to hold that sweet little baby.

There is just something special about creating the first family photos for parents. It never gets old. Seeing parents with their new baby is so fun to watch and photograph. I love that I get to be the storyteller for this brief, beautiful moment.

The day of Sullivan’s photo session, his parents weren’t sure about doing family photos. A long night with a new baby will do that to you! I am so glad that they went ahead and did the family photos anyways. Look at the pure joy and excitement from his parents. You can almost feel the emotion, just by looking at the photo.

I love photographing parents with their first baby. There is truly something special about creating the first family photos for parents. It never gets old. Seeing parents interact with their new baby is so incredibly sweet to watch.

Loveland Newborn Photo Shoot | Baby’s First 4th of July

Stevie recently came into my Loveland newborn photo studio for her first photos. She burst into this world a little early but oh so perfect. She was born just a few weeks before the 4th of July. At a little over 4lbs, she was definitely one of the smallest babies I’ve photographed. She may be tiny, but she was absolutely amazing for me! From blanket poses to the family poses, she was relaxed and sleepy through it all.

Fun Fact: Ivy was the first newborn girl I’ve had in my Loveland studio. Not just that, she broke my streak of 11 newborn boys in a row without a girl.

Loveland Newborn Photo Studio | Your Local Newborn Photo Studio

A little over a month ago, I moved into my new photo studio in Loveland, Colorado. After four coats of paint (no joke) and many hours of cleaning and organizing, I finally decided it was time to let everyone take a peek.

Cozy, Just Like Home

Diapers, wipes, bottle warmer, coffee, water and snacks, my boutique Loveland photo studio is comfortable and fully stocked with everything you and your baby may need. Rest on the couch, you deserve to soak up this moment. Don’t worry, I have everything we will need to make amazing portraits.

So Many Photo Props to Choose From

Baskets in over 5 colors. More than 8 mini beds and cribs to choose from. Tiny chairs, dressers, blankets, pillows and lamps for building newborn photo sets. So many itty-bitty outfits, I lost count. Little boat? I’ve got it! Are you dreaming of your baby being photographed with a boho theme in mind? Yes please! That sounds like fun, and I already have the props. Don’t see what you were hoping for? Email me. I just might have it in the backroom!

Posing Fabric in Every Color of the Rainbow

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Purple, Blue, White! I like them all, but one’s just right! Gotta go through all I know… – best Bubble Guppies’ song ever! If you haven’t heard of it yet, go look it up on YouTube. You can thank me later.

What is Posing Fabric?

Posing fabric is used on my newborn posing table. It gives a solid background for all of the really sweet, squishy photos you see on my website. In addition to all of my rainbow colors, I also have a variety of neutrals and patterns (clouds, stars, flowers, cacti etc.).

Wraps, Hats, Headbands and the Posing Table

This little nook in my Loveland newborn photo studio is the best! Right here is where all of my favorite photos happen. I love having all of my hats, wraps and headbands in one place. That table you see to the left is my posing table. It is super cozy and warm for the newborns.

Did you know, every newborn gets their own special hat with their name on it?

Just like the posing fabric, I have headbands in so many colors. My goal is to have a little bit of everything. With over 50 headbands to choose from, I’m sure you will find a few you love.

Photographing newborns in this new space has been so incredibly nice. One of my favorite parts of my new photo studio is being on the main level and having a storefront. A storefront means you are just steps away from my door when you arrive in the parking lot. You no longer have to go up 3 flights of stairs with your baby! That’s right, my old studio was up a lot of stairs.

Megan Grove Photography- Loveland Newborn Photo Studio Grand Opening

I am going to be celebrating the Grand Opening for my Loveland photo studio the whole month of April 2022.

I am so excited to announce that $50 from every session scheduled during April will go to one of 3 amazing local baby/family charities.

The sessions do not have to take place in April; however, the contract must be signed, and nonrefundable deposit paid before session can be put on the schedule. I know this sounds a little confusing so I’m going to put it another way. Even if your baby is due in July, if you schedule your session now (April 2022) $50 of your deposit will be donated to one of these charities. There were so many charities to choose from but ultimately Nestled in the NICU, Stork Support of Northern Colorado and 3 Hopeful Hearts are the 3 you will get to choose between.

Let me tell you more about each of these amazing groups.

Nestled in the NICU

Nestled in the NICU started out offering support and care packages but has grown into something much more than that. They provide a community for families experiencing a NICU stay and for years to follow. I know several of my families that I photograph, have personal relationships with this group and love what they offer families. Stork Support of Northern Colorado

Stork Support of Northern Colorado is a nonprofit organization providing essential maternity, postpartum and baby needs to under-resourced families in Northern Colorado. The amazing people that run this organization gather and give out items to moms in need. 3Hopeful Hearts

3Hopeful Hearts provides support to families who have experienced the tragic loss of a baby or child. They offer support groups for families grieving as well as events like Camp Braveheart and 3Hopeful Hears Walk to Remember. While looking through their website, I notice they even have a group for miscarriage and pregnancy after loss. I thought I would mention this here because so many of the families I photograph have experienced miscarriages, even mine. I would have found 3Hopeful Hearts helpful if I would have known about them a few years ago.
